About The Hog Hospital
The Hog Hospital a small Hedgehog rehabilitation centre based in Cheriton Bishop, Devon, specialising in the care and treatment of our wild British Hedgehogs. We take in Hogs found by members of the public and through our local vet practices, to convalesce and recover ready to be re-released into the wild.
We officially opened our doors in 2020 after 5 years of rehabilitating Hedgehogs at home and then in 2021 we expanded our facilities further so that we could run as a full-time operation 365 days a year.
Our current facilities:
- Indoor housing and ICU for up to 16 Hedgehogs
- Outdoor Sheltered housing for 7 Hedgehogs
- Outdoor soft release pens for 4 Hedgehogs
-Nebulisers
-Microscope
- ICU incubator unit
Who are we?

The Hog Hospital is a 1.5 man band run by Genevieve, a Registered Veterinary Nurse, Vet Physio and Hedgehog enthusiast! We are supported by Toby who often helps out with care of our more critical hogs and maintenance of our facilities. We have been looking after Hogs since 2015 when Genevieve was a student at Westmoor Vets in Tavistock; a little 3 week old Hedgehog called Womble was our first ever patient after he was found by a road. He lived with us and grew up to be a 1kg beast of a hog, being released later that year and there began the Hog Hospital!

We are supported by an amazing team of followers both online and locally who keep us afloat, keep the hog's bellies full and help us in any way they can and for that we are so grateful!

Womble our first patient in 2015!
